Tamworth Arts Club or TAC has been based in Tamworth, Staffordshire (UK) since 1946, and has members from the local areas. We put on two shows each year - usually West End and Broadway musicals, with the occasional Gilbert and Sullivan operetta or compilation show to keep the diversity as wide as possible,.
Select 'Past Shows' form the Menu on the left to see all of our previous productions.

Tamworth Herald Press Release - 2nd July 2013
TAMWORTH ARTS CLUB SETS UP SHOP
2 July 2013... Popular local musical theatre group, Tamworth Arts Club, has unveiled its next production. To be staged 29th October-2nd November at Landau Forte Academy on Ashby Road, Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy horror with a range of fiendishly good songs that entertain young and old.
The show tells the story of Seymour, a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human flesh and blood. As it keeps growing, Seymour must appease the plant whose appetite spirals out of control. This theme is underpinned by a touching romance between Seymour and his work colleague Audrey. Songs with a kitsch 50s rock and roll flavour penned by Alan Menken, keep the action moving, ranging from the punchy title theme and highly charged 'Dentist!' through to sweet ballads like 'Suddenly, Seymour' and 'Somewhere That's Green'.
Under the expert direction of Brian Morris and Jenny Jennings, the production team is completed by talented musical director Sue Arthur and legendary choreographer Lisa Closs. But there is something missing from the show's stellar line up. Brian said, “We're very much under way with our rehearsals and everyone's having a lot of fun. But we're lacking a very important prop. Our deranged dentist character needs an old-fashioned foot-operated drill for his surgery, so we're appealing to the people of Tamworth to come forward if they know where we can find one to star in our production.”
Anyone able to supply an antique dentist drill should contact Tamworth Arts Club, via Alan Tonks on 01827 260602.

14th October to 18th October 2014
Tamworth Arts Club’s next production will be the energetic Footloose which is crammed full of electrifying dancing and classic eighties hits including: Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let's Hear It For The Boy and the title track Footloose. Based on the popular movie Footloose which starred Kevin Bacon, this musical tells the story of city boy Ren who moves to small town America where dancing is banned.
Tamworth Arts Club will be performing this show at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms on Tuesday 14th to Saturday 18th October and are looking for new members particularly young men to join the cast. The show is a great opportunity for anyone interested in acting, singing and dancing to develop and show off their talents. Though we are particularly looking for younger men to play the teenage roles we are happy to take new members of all ages and genders as this is a show that has a lot of diverse and interesting characters.
Tamworth Arts Club has been performing to audiences since 1966 and considers itself the home of Musical Theatre in Tamworth. As well as being a fun and friendly club that strives to develop the talent and confidence of all it members, we also have been nominated as Regional Best Production by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) every year since.
The rehearsals for the show will be on Wednesday and Friday nights.
Do you love to sing and dance? Are you aged 14 or over?
If so, we would be thrilled to see you at the introductory meeting on Wednesday 7th May at the St John Ambulance HQ, Moor Street, Tamworth. For more information email the Director on email@example.com
