Flick's, Hits & Broadway

18th April - 21st April 2012

(including Saturday matinee)

Tamworth Arts Club will be bringing you a night (and afternoon) of song and dance that will have your hearts singing and your toes tapping!

We present to you a tour of songs that have defined the 20th Century and beyond.

The show begins by transporting you back to the glamour of the Roaring Twenties where you will be treated to song and dance classics like Puttin on the Ritz, S’Wonderful and Happy Feet before embarking on a musical journey through time, from Fly Me to the Moon to Footloose, Get Happy to Fame, as well as spectacular numbers from Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins, Wicked and Les Miserables.

With plenty of opportunity for the audience to sing along to their favourites, it is truly a feel good show with something for everyone. Come and be entertained by our excellent cast and live orchestra in an atmosphere that can be found nowhere else but at the theatre.

Why not book a table so you can enjoy the performance together with friends and family?

Wednesday Charity Night

£1 from every ticket sold on Wednesday Night will be donated to DEBRA.

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest friction or even spontaneously. There are at least 5,000 people living with this devastating condition in the UK and 500,000 worldwide. DEBRA provides an expert team of nurses and social care staff to work directly with families. The charity also commissions world-leading research into the condition with the aim of finding effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for EB.

For those of you who don't know us . . .

TAC has been based in Tamworth, Staffordshire (UK) since 1946, and has members from the local areas. We put on two shows each year - usually West End and Broadway musicals, with an occasional Gilbert and Sullivan operetta or compilation-type shows.

Select 'Past Shows' form the Menu on the left to see all of our previous productions.

. . . why not join Us?

We are delighted to welcome new members to audition for any show.

If your talents are more suited to helping behind the scenes we'd like to hear from you too, particularly if you can sew, paint, construct scenery or props.

Rehearsals take place each Wednesday (7.30-9:30) at St. John Ambulance Headquarters, Moor Street, Tamworth. and on Fridays (7.30-9.30) for principals (and occasionally chorus) at Central Methodist Hall, Aldergate, Tamworth.

Why not just turn up to any rehearsal and ask for a committee member or membership secretary, Michelle Johnson, or telephone our Chairman, Alan Tonks on 01827 260602

Membership subscriptions are much less than some societies, presently £30 per year and for those on stage, there is an additoal £10 for each show. There is a 50% deduciton for members in full time education.

. . . or become one of out Patrons?

Alternatively, if you're happy just to support us why not become a patron?

Rising costs make it more and more difficult to put on a high quality production without increasing ticket prices, so our patrons support is valuable to us.

For £25 you will receive 2 tickets, one for each of our shows, copies of our newsletter, other benefits and the warm glow that comes from knowing how much we appreciate your help!

For more information, phone Maureen on 01827 260602, or email, or click here for details.
